How to lock the iPad screen during you play a game ?
You open the game, give the iPad to your toddler and then your child close the iPad even before starting to play. It can be frustrating.
To prevent your child to close the window or swipe the screen left to right, you will need to do few easy steps.
Steps to lock the screen:
Go to your iPad desktop
Click on the “General” button at left side of your screen. Then, click on the accessibility button under the text size button.
In the learning section, click on the button GUIDED ACCESS. That button must be on.
Finally, make sure the button GUIDED ACCESS is on (green color) and the button ACCESSIBILITY SHORTCUT is on as well (green color).
It’s done ! You can now open your game and test the lock function.
Test the lock screen function:
Last step is to verify it’s working well.
- Go back to your iPad home screen and tap on the game icon.
- Once the game is open, notice that if you swipe (push) the screen with 3 or more fingers, the screen will move. We do not want that so what you need to do is to click 3 times on the home button. Home button is the black button on the plastic frame of your iPad (the one you push to go back to the home screen)
- Once you click 3 times on the home button, the iPad will ask to enter your password, type it 2 times.
- Try to push or swipe the screen with 3 fingers left to right, notice it doesn’t move anymore.
Your screen is locked !
To cancel the lock function:
If you want to go back to the home page, same process, click on the home button 3 times again, it will ask for your password and your screen will be unlock.
Now you know how to lock your screen and your child can play the game without any interruption !
Have fun !!!
